Tag, You’re It!

In the last couple of days, I got tagged by two different bloggers, Terry at 8 Kids And A Business, and Foraging Squirrel at Foraging Squirrel, for the Blog-A-thon award.

Here’s the award:

The rules for the award are as follows:

  1. Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
  2. They must also answer the 11 questions the “tagger” has set for them.
  3. They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
  4. They must then choose 11 bloggers and tag them in their post.
  5. These “lucky” bloggers must then be told.
  6. No tag backs.

First, here’s the 11 things about myself:

  1. I love eating fried alligator.
  2. When it comes to popular music, Lynyrd Skynyrd is probably my favorite group.
  3. I once participated in a 50 mile relay race.  My team lost.
  4. I carry a pocketknife.  Have since I was a young-un.  And phooey to anyone who says I shouldn’t.  It’s a useful tool, not a weapon.
  5. I was detained once in my life by a policeman.  Not counting speeding tickets.  My cousin and I jumped a fence and were crossing Interstate 10 in New Orleans.  A state patrol officer saw us and pulled over onto the neutral ground between the two sides of the highway.  He gave us a lecture about why it was not a good idea to be crossing the interstate like that.  Then he proceeded to block the highway so we could cross and get home.  Embarrassing.
  6. I hate okra.  Except in gumbo.
  7. I also hate liver and onions.  I was pretty sure as a kid that it was a method cooked up by parents to punish their children.
  8. I do however like fried chicken livers.  Go figure.
  9. One of my favorite works of classical music is The Moldau by Smetana.  Very beautiful piece.  If you’ve never listened to it, and you like classical, you should take the time to listen.
  10. One of the musical instruments that I enjoy the most, for its sound, is the violin.  Violins and fiddles bot have a strong emotional quality to their sound, ranging from sadness to absolute joy.  I can listen to fiddle music all day.  Love it.
  11. I don’t eat sushi.  More, I won’t eat sushi.

Since I got tagged by two different bloggers, I’m going to answer both sets of 11 questions.  Here are all 22 questions and my answers.

  1. Did you floss your teeth today?  No.
  2. What did you have for dinner?  Last night, we had burgers.
  3. Superman or Batman?  Batman.
  4. If you could have dinner with one person in all of history, who would it be and why?  It’s Monday morning and I’m a bit grouchy, cause my back is stiff and sore, so I’m going to say any of the bloody dictators over the last hundred years.  Have dinner with him right on the eve of his 18th birthday, then proceed to follow him around for the next five years and periodically just slap the heck out of him in the most embarrassing and publicly humiliating way possible until he’s afraid to show his face anywhere cause he knows everyone’s going to see him getting another slapdown, and at least one dictator will never come to be.
  5. If you had one day to do whatever you want, what would you do?  Travel to Israel, to Jerusalem, and spend the last day of my life in the city where my Lord and Saviour was crucified.
  6. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Italian sub sandwich.  Salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, provolone, Sicilian olive mix, mayo, and mustard, on a hoagie bun.
  7. The Flash or Green Lantern?  The Flash.
  8. Ice cream OR apple pie?  Oooh, tough one.  Gonna go with …..apple pie.
  9. Who said: “Unless you strive after virtues and practice them, you will never grow to be more than dwarfs.”  Haven’t the foggiest.
  10. A horse jumps over a castle.  The castle disappears.  Why is no one surprised?  Sandcastle?
  11. Who said:  “What does he gain who refuses the cross?  He increases its weight.”  Hmm….don’t know.
  12. What’s going on with your lips?  They’re happy.
  13. If you had to commit either your mother or father to a mental institution, which one would it be? Yes, you can only pick one.  My father.
  14. If you had to spend the night in jail, in the hospital, or with your mom, which one would you choose?  In the hospital.
  15. Have you called 911 today?  No.
  16. Are you drinking again?  No.
  17. Have you ever watched Mean Girls and thought, Damn, what happened to me?  I’ve never watched Mean Girls.
  18. Driving. You. Why?  To. Go. To. Work.
  19. If you could be a nightclub, what nightclub would you be? Not sure, but it definitely wouldn’t be the Copa Cabana.
  20. Who’s winning: You or Amanda Bynes?  Definitely me.
  21. If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?  A mighty oak.
  22. If you were a car, what kind of car would you be?  Military grade HMMWV.
